Obituary of Joan Bateman
In Loving Memory of Joan Bateman (1932 – 2023)
It is with profound sadness that the family announces Joan’s peaceful passing at Nipissing Manor in Corbeil, Ontario on March 5, 2023.
She was a loving mother to Rhonda (Allan) Parcey and Randall (Jeannie) Bateman. Proud Grandmother to Robert (Shannon) Parcey and Great Grandmother to Emmitt and Colton.
Mom was happiest when she would spend her weekends riding in the golf cart, watching her son golf or spending holidays cruising with her daughter and family. Visiting the spa and casino, seeing the sights and enjoying the entertainment were a big highlight for Joan during vacation.
Joan was a avid euchre player and was always proud of her winnings and enjoyed the interaction and friendships that were cultivated. Often her birthday parties were at home with a group of close friends around the card table till the late hours of the evening.
Mom spent her final four months at Nipissing Manor surrounded by an amazing staff of professionals and caring nurses/recreational/maintenance and administrative teams and wonderful PSW’s. Our family is forever grateful.
For those who wish an expression of sympathy, donations to the North Bay Humane Society, would be greatly appreciated by her family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Martyn Funeral Home and online condolences can be made at www.martynfh.com
“If Roses Grow In Heaven”
If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother’s arms
And tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
But there’s an ache within my heart,
That will never go away.
