Obituary of Anna Suzanne Miller
Anna Suzanne Miller (nee Kons) 92 years passed away peacefully on December 7, 2022 at Water’s Edge Care Community in North Bay, Ontario. Predeceased by her first husband Percy Sawchenko and daughter with Percy, Mary Sawchenko, and second husband John Bourne Miller. She is survived by her four children, Donald Sawchenko (Leslie), Suzanne Miller, Cheryl Miller and John Paul Miller (Cheryl Fetterly). She was the proud grandma of Alex Sawchenko (Katie), Amy Sawchenko (Cameron Smith), Jenna Sawchenko, Michael Miller, Rhianna & Rachel Miller and great grandma to Gwen & Aedan Sawchenko and Cooper Smith. Also, survived by her sisters Helen Kons of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Jean Krysak of Krydor, Saskatchewan.
Affectionately known as the Perogy Lady, Anna loved her family and friends, volunteered for the Ukrainian and Polish Clubs of North Bay, Scollard Hall Women’s Guild, and loved to cook. She is well known for the many thousands of perogies she made for both the Heritage Festival (The Perogy Palace) and for her many customers for Christmas and New Years.
The funeral service will be at Martyn Funeral Home at 464 Wyld Street, North Bay on Wednesday December 14, 2022. Visitation will begin at 1:30 with a service in the chapel starting at 3 pm.
In recognition of Anna’s dedication to perogy making, donations to the North Bay Ukrainian Club Christmas Dinner would be appreciated.
