Obituary of James Edward Rose
Ed Rose
Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, October 18th, 2022, sadly from COVID complications at the age of 78. Ed was the beloved husband of Judi (née Philipps) for 57 years. Proud and loving father of David and his wife Linda, and Jeremy and his wife Jennifer. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Kaitlyn (Brandon) Oshell, Travis Rose, Jack Priestman and Michael Rose. Ed’s great grandchildren Lilly and Lukas Rose and Eli Oshell were a constant pleasure to him and brought a twinkle to his eye and heart. Dearly loved brother of Glen (Dianne), Linda (Cam), Robert, Marilyn. Will be sadly missed by brother in law Kim Philipps. Predeceased by his parents Foster and Bernice Rose (née Reid) and his brother Carl.
Ed worked as a Military Police Officer for over 36 years and retired with the rank of Warrant Officer. Ed, then enrolled in college and became a small engine technician, working for Bay Distributing in North Bay for a decade.
Ed was a spiritual man, who felt a necessity to help others. He prided himself as a past Trustee and Board member of the Trinity United Church, and one of the AOTS Men’s Club most dedicated fundraisers. In addition, Ed happily served as a volunteer driver for the Red Cross.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 26th from 12-2:00PM at the Trinity United Church with a Memorial Service being held at 2:00PM. The service will be followed by a light luncheon provided by the UCW group of Trinity. Donations to the Trinity United Church (General Fund), will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
