DAVID JOHNSON posted a condolence

Although I didn't know Mr. Hillis, he was a cousin of my late father. My grandmother was Ida (Hillis) Johnson, a sister of Albert Roy Hillis. She was also born in Burk's Falls, but died before I was born.
My condolences to the Hillis family. Sounds like Mr. Hillis was a wonderful man.

I treasured Bob as a friend who had a great sense of humor and compassion for his hockey. We had many enlightening conversations and no doubt he will be missed by all who knew him.
Our condolences to you Deanna and his family and relatives.

Mr Hillis was such a kind soul, who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Growing up across the street on Birchwood was an important part of my life. The neighbors were so close knit that they were just like family. One thing I will always remember about Mr. Hillis is his smile (even when I would cut through his yard to go to the creek). May Gold Bless you and all your family.

My Uncle Bob was always kind & generous to me. He enjoyed us all making jokes and singing songs around the campfire ( which was always at his site) When I introduced Him to Susan , He welcomed her into the family as if she'd always been there. I feel like I've lost a Hero. Called Home to Heaven - Never to be forgotten - David Dailey

There were very few people I enjoyed talking sports with more than Bob. In the old zone system in the 70's, Bob was one of the stalwart volunteers in the West Zone. Minor sports was better off because of people like Bob.
My sympathies to all of the family.

Our brother-in law Bob has been our best friend for more than sixty years and one person that we could always count on. So many memories, like when he taught me how to drive his car when I turned 16, letting me borrow his new car to take my mum to EXPO 67 in Montreal and then camping together with our families at Lake Bernard Park in Sundridge for about 25 years.
Bob was always there to help anyone and never expected anything in return. For so many years he was also a trusted employee who went far and beyond anyone's expectations.
Bob will certainly be missed but never forgotten and I plan on being with him again someday in Heaven
Love from Patricia and Gary Dailey
