Obituary of Gordon Low Spalding

Gordon was born in Port Colborne Ontario, the second son of Scottish migrants Harry and Mary. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anita and his son Ian.  Gordon was raised during the Great Depression and educated in Sudbury, Toronto, and Ottawa graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Toronto. He taught high school history in North Bay for a decade, sharing his passion for the unfolding story of humankind. He followed that tenure with a long and rewarding career at the Ministry of Education as a school inspector and eventually, Regional Superintendent.

Gordon will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A private family service will be held at a future date. Donations to the Emmanuel United Church Memorial Fund or Canadian Cancer Society would be genuinely appreciated.
