Obituary of Shawn Robert Tilander
Shawn Tilander, a kind, caring, compassionate, funny, son, brother, uncle , nephew and friend, passed away on February 4, 2022, at his home. A retired teacher from the Rainbow District School Board, Shawn thoroughly enjoyed his life teaching and mentoring young minds. A selfless volunteer, Shawn tirelessly gave of his time to Special Olympics, track and field, and any other event for which his time was requested. In retirement, Shawn cared for his mother Ruthanne, and enjoyed fishing with his friends among other pursuits. He was an avid reader, loved working on cars and any motors he collected, cooking ‘special recipes’ and watching all sports. As a young child, Shawn was a superhero wearing capes and jumping off roofs, and he remained a superhero to his family and friends to the end. He will now be telling stories with his dad Karl in heaven. He will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shawn's memory may be made to Community Living North Bay. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/24027
