Obituary of Gaétan Donald Charles Côté

It is with great sadness the family of Gaétan announce his passing on Monday, August 9^th, 2021, at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice. He was the beloved husband of Monique Jeanne (nee Lamarche), he was 75 years old. Loving father of Lynne LaFleur and her husband Chris of North Bay, and Patrick Côté and his wife Allison of Courtenay, BC. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Maverick, Alexandra (Joshua) and by his great grandchildren Lily and Booker. Sadly, missed by his siblings Joanne and Evelyn.   He was predeceased by his parents Jean-Marie & Annette (nee Fortin) Côté and his brother Rejean. Gaétan was proud to have served his Country as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. He retired as a Sergeant after 36 years (1964-2001). He was born in Jonquiere, QC.  He enjoyed golf, playing pool, bowling, he was an excellent badminton player and enjoyed being with his family and friends and hanging with them in the backyard. He loved to tell jokes and was good at making you laugh. He had a passion for listening to music, singing and having a good time. Visitation will be at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday, August 13th, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until time for a Memorial Service in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM. Pre-registration for the service with Martyn Funeral Home, at 705-472-8810 (Social Distancing during the visiting and Service must be observed and Masks are Mandatory while in the Funeral Home). Cremation with interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. We would like to send our sincere appreciation and thank you to Dr. Jinnah, Dr. Carter, Dr. Leckie, all staff on C3 at the North Bay Regional Hospital, Nurse Carol and Nurse Brittany. A special thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice. If desired, donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice, would be appreciated by the family.
