Obituary of Maurice Joseph Murray
MURRAY – Maurice “Tibi”
1947-2020
Passed away suddenly on Monday October 26, 2020 at his home. He was 73 years old. He is survived by is beloved wife and best friend of 50 years Bella Marie (nee Keown). Dear father of Jason and Randy. Cherished grandfather of Katie, Karsen and Kahlie. Dearly loved brother of Celine (Danny Turcotte Sr., deceased), Roselle (Raymond Cadorette), and Nicole. Predeceased by his parents Leopold and Jeanette (nee Lavasseur) Murray and siblings Rejean, Jeannine,
Jean Marc, Jean Claude, Gaétan, Rodrigue, Nicole, Ghislain, René and Jean Paul.
Born in Matane, Quebec he moved to Mattawa in 1961. He worked in logging then became a bricklayer and worked in construction. He also built and operated the former Murray Motel in Mattawa.
In keeping with Maurice’s wishes cremation has taken place and due to the covid 19 pandemic restrictions there will be no visitation or service. A grave side burial will be held in the spring.
If desired, memorial donations to the Diabetes Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martyn & Sloan, Mattawa Chapel.
