Obituary of Ron Davis
DAVIS – Ronald Desmond “Ron”
Peacefully, with his family surrounding him, Ron left us on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, for his final fishing trip. For the past 53 years, Ron has been the beloved and devoted husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Hewitt). The proud and loving father of Jeffery (Kim Craig), Julie (Bill Leon), and Jennifer (Ray Meunier). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Bailey, Hannah, Joel, Richard (Jennifer Livingston) Shayne and Kyle, and by his great-grandchildren Desmond, Madelyn, and Carter. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters LoAnn Wilms, Helen Kerr, and Barb Irish and brothers Darrel and Don Davis, their spouses as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister Wilma and brothers Wayne, John, and Doug. Ron was born in Belleville and grew up in North Bay. For many years Ron and Peggy raised their family in Foleyet and Timmins owning and operating Ivanhoe Lodge. A man of many talents he worked several other jobs before retiring and returning to North Bay. Ron was an active and dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. and the Rorab Shrine Club. He was an avid fisherman and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to the current restrictions imposed by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario Ron’s memorial service will be by invitation only. If desired donations to North Bay Regional Health Centre or the Shriners Children’s Hospital will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy
