Obituary of Jessie Pearl Salmon
SALMON, (Jessie) Pearl (nee Kirby)
December 15, 1918- March 31, 2020
Passed away peacefully in her 102nd year. Predeceased by her husband Daniel (1978), her parents John and Mary Jane Kirby and her 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Survived by her children Carol, Pat, Jane, Kirby (Mary), 10 grandchildren; Matthew, Sarah, Jessica, Sarah, Danielle, Jeffrey, Kayla, Brandon, Kirstin and Kelsea, 9 great grandchildren; Kian, Ella, Kali, Noah, Reese, Harper, Emily, Nina and Cohen. Pearl started her teaching career in her early 20's in Whitefish, ON, then married and raised her family in North Bay. She returned to teaching at Dr. Carruthers Public School retiring in 1978. Mom enjoyed her retirement years in her home until she was 93 then transitioned to Empire Living for 4 years and spent her last years at Cassellholme. We are blessed with years of wonderful memories. She provided a loving and welcoming home to friends and family. We would like to extend our appreciation to the 3rd floor staff at Cassellholme who spent time with Pearl and recognized and enjoyed her wry sense of humour. She was a quiet and gentle soul who didn't like a fuss...She is missed. A celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to The North Bay Food Bank, Trinity United Church, or Cassellholme would be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements entrusted to Martyn Funeral Home.
