Obituary of James Arthur Madge

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Due to a sudden mix of complications on Monday January 27, 2020 at 83 years of age.  Dear husband of Jennifer. Loving father of Laurel Charron (Guy) of Sudbury. Predeceased by his grandson Marc Charron. Sadly missed by grandchildren Dani Rivet (Steph), Kendall Ryan (Matt Foley), McArthy Ryan (Mariah Dempster), Carrington Ryan (Brad Pappano) and great grandchildren Remi Rivet, Charlotte Foley and Elliott Ryan. Predeceased by his brothers Victor Allan Madge (Joan, surviving) and Tom Madge (Gayle predeceased) and his sister Betty Madge. Survived by his sister Constance Ward (Dick predeceased) and brothers Gord Madge (Nancy) and Doug Madge (Linda). Also survived by his sisters in law Sandra Miller (John) and their children Shane (Sarah McCarthy) and Lisa Grimard (Gord) and Tracy Boileau (Richard) and their children Jaidon Boileau and Kaylem (Ryan Ledoux). Jaidon, thank you so much for being my strength when I needed you the most. You are a very special person in my life and what you did for your uncle Jim and I, words cannot express. I am proud to call you my nephew. Kaylem brought the joy of laughter to her uncle Jim’s eyes from spiking his hair while he slept to trimming his bushy eyebrows. She has matured from an adventurous girl to a beautiful young woman. Jim will be missed by all his family and friends, not to mention many nieces and nephews. Jim’s family would like to thank all the staff of the 400 Club at Cassellholme for giving Jim ‘a job’ and for providing a caring place for him to spend his days. They would also like to offer a big ‘thank you’ to Monique of Paramed for all the wonderful care she gave him and for being such a good friend. Jim was a lineman for Bell Canada for 37+ years. Jim took much pride in the day to day happenings of a well-versed construction crew. Jim had an avid outlook on life from playing ball as a young man to skiing, biking, walking and golfing with his long-time friend Paul and many nephews.  After retirement Jim and Jennifer enjoyed travelling and cruising, the high light of which was Scotland and Switzerland. A memorial service for Jim will be held at Omond Memorial United Church on Saturday February 8 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the North Bay Humane Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
