Obituary of Glenda Elaine Poupore

POUPORE – Glenda Elaine

 

Peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Center Tuesday December 3, 2019 at the age of 79 years. For the past fifty-six years Glenda was the beloved and devoted wife of Michael Joseph “Mike” Poupore.  The proud and loving mother of Catherine Neely (Derrick) of Barrie, the late Cynthia (Tracy Cant), and Stephanie Cousineau (Cory) both of North Bay, Grandma will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kyle & Courtney Neely, Leah Cant & Mya & Claire Cousineau and her great grandson Oliver Neely.     Glenda was predeceased by all of her siblings, brothers Hugh and Doug Moore and her sister Barbara Lacey.  A nurse by profession Glenda graduated in the class of 1962 from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston.  Her true love of nursing was caring for patients in the Emergency Department. She nursed for many years at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital, then was a dedicated member of the staff of the VON.    In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place.  Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 – 9 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Peter the Apostle Church, 299 Airport Road at 11:00am on Friday December 6, 2019.   In lieu of flowers if you would like to honour Glenda’s memory with a memorial donation please consider either the North Bay Regional Health Center Foundation - Emergency Department or St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church.
