A feeling of sadness and loss comes over me to know that she is gone but at the same time, although I know it will take time for you Mark and Beth, to come to terms with the passing of your mother and my Aunt Cora from this earth, we know she is now at a better place.
I will always remember the joy and pleasure of her many visits to see my mother during the period of my youth. Aunt Cora lived with us in Toronto in order to complete her schooling as a secretary.
As a teen, I always loved seeing her many visits to our home in Scarborough. We were over the moon when she finally became pregnant with Mark. My mother Violet was given a lot of the responsibility of watching over Aunt Cora when she was small and they developed a very close relationship as sisters so any happiness for one was celebrated by all..
I remember being in church when Aunt Cora and Uncle Emerson were married. She had picked a wonderful, kind, loving husband in him and so I then had another hero to worship.
They took me home to stay with them for two weeks when they lived on Mount Pleasant Road. Aunt Cora gave me lots of attention and Uncle Emerson seemed overjoyed to have a child in the home. I will always remember our visit to a fancy restaurant on Yonge Street and their pride of having me with them. Uncle Emerson had his hands proudly on my shoulders as we waited in the long line to be seated and Aunt Cora was her usual sweet self always pleasant and smiling. I even remember my order of veal parmesan cutlets. I was only ten or so and they let me order what I pleased.
Both Aunt Cora and Uncle Emerson were the highlights of my younger life and I always look back on the times with them with happiness.
Gone but never forgotten.

I will always remember the time Cora came over for a night. Mort was
gone away hunting and it was the day before Remembrance Day. Cora spent the night here and we had some wine and she showed me some letters
and news paper clippings from Mort's dad and uncles who were war vets. Then we went next day to the Callander Legion for Remembrance Day Parade and ceremony. After we went the the graveyard where some Leroy family members are buried. It was a special day for me
