Obituary of Barry Englefield Rice
RICE, Barry Englefield
-17 March 1939-
Former long time North Bay Psychiatric Hospital Register Nurse Assistant, and Real Estate Broker and Owner (Saunders & Rice and Kleinmaker & Bruce Realty). Suddenly due to complications from long term illness Barry died on Saturday 27 October 2018, at the North Bay Regional Health Center, surrounded by his family. He was in his 80th year. He was the beloved husband of Eileen Rice (nee Gauthier), for 32 plus years, who predeceased him in 1996. Father to Stephen (Romana), Kenneth (Susan) and Craig (Manon), Grandfather to Joshua, Shayla, Megan, Nathaniel and Mikaelle and Great Grandpa to Elijah, Samuel and Chad.
Barry was one of a kind and the last of three brothers William (Bill) and Robert (Bob) who were born to Leonard and Florence (Molly) Rice having emigrated from England. Barry was well known around North Bay having been involved in the North Bay Chamber of Commerce, Real Estate Board and the North Bay and District Retriever Training Club.
Cremation has taken place and in accordance with his wishes no formal service will be held but a celebration of life will be held in the Spring details TBD. If desired, donations may be made to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice, or the Prostate Cancer Society.
God Speed Barry and we hope the fish are biting and the limit is plentiful.
