Obituary of Elizabeth Rice

RICE (nee Soutar): Elizabeth

Passed away peacefully at the Scarborough and Rouge Centenary Hospital, on Wednesday, July 25^th, 2018. She was 72 years old. Elizabeth was the beloved mother of Katy Hornsby and her husband Robert, and step-mother of Donald Rice , Stephanie Rice and Suzanne Rice. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jesse, Jacob and Finnigan Rice, Skylar, Dominic and Edward Hornsby and by her great grandchild Madison Rice. Dearly loved sister of Andy Soutar and his wife Gwen, and their children Amanda and Amy. Elizabeth was an educator for over 26 years teaching in Etobicoke, Fort Frances and at seven different schools in North Bay and District. She was an active member of her community at Emmanuel United Church and St. Andrew's United Church, the Gateway Guild of Handweavers & Spinners and Ralph Johnston’s Weaving Studio. She could often be found working in her beautiful  garden on Campbell Avenue, knitting or reading. Visitation for Elizabeth will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday from 2-4:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, July 29^th at 2:00 P.M. Interment later at the Callander Union Cemetery.
