WARREN (nee McGhee): Carol
Passed away peacefully in her daughter's home on October 8th 2012 surrounded by her loving family while visiting in Blyth, Ontario. She joins her beloved husband of 53 years, Tony, who predeceased her by 5 weeks. She was 76. Carol was born in Copper Cliff, Ontario to Sophia and Alexander McGhee. Loving mother of Janice and her husband Jeff Peters of Blyth and Heather and her husband Dr. Michael Leckie of North Bay. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Justin, Brittney, Anthony, Alex, Ryan and Jennifer. Dearly loved sister of Jenny Watson of Scotland, Mary McGhee and Bryden McGhee both of North Bay. Carol graduated as a Registered Nurse from Toronto East General Hospital in 1957. Upon graduation she was employed by Trans Canada Airlines as a stewardess until her marriage to Tony in 1959. Carol continued her nursing at St. Joseph's Hospital in North Bay and Plant Nurse at Dupont/E.T.I. for 25 years. Carol adored her grandchildren, was affectionately called "G mar", was selfless and nurtured many friendships. Despite her illness, "Coach Carol" would never miss a hockey game, a swim meet, a track meet or a graduation. Carol and Tony had an enviable love story, shared laughter and tears and were inseparable, even in death. She leaves a wonderful legacy of family and showed us the true meaning of courage. We are the worse without her daily inspiration. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Brian Shaw, Dr. Tullus and the staff on the Respiratory Wing at St. Michaels Hospital, to the "Angels" in the CCU at the NBRHC and to "Sue" for their tremendous care. At Carol's request there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held. If desired, donations in Carols name can be made to the Respiratory Wing at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto or to your charity of choice.
